Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum-Enabled Bioimaging to join our team at LANL’s Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (MPA-CINT) to support the laboratory’s methods for the visualization of living plant physiology and health. In this role, you will exploit quantum ghost imaging and quantum imaging with undetected photons for low-light, label-free imaging of plants of biofuel relevance.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. completed in Physics, Engineering, Biophysics, or Chemistry/Biochemistry completed within the last five years or expected completion this academic year

Knowledge in creating new optical instruments (both hardware and software)

Experience with laser spectroscopy or optical microscopy

Proven track record of scientific success through publications and presentations

Strong communication skills and ability to conduct research independently

Previous experience in time-resolved single photon detection would be highly valued

Previous experience with the development and characterization of entangled photon sources is desirable
