          • The candidate will be responsible for developing research projects aimed at identifying mechanisms of regulation of genes involved in neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation.
          • In particular the candidate will have the opportunity to define the effect of physiologic stress on translation of genes that drive neurodegeneration and determine the genes that regulate this process.   

           

          Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

           

          Investigation of the role of 5 regulatory sequences on translation under conditions that model neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration. Develop high throughput genetic screens to identify regulators of disease-associated gene  expression under conditions of cell stress. Carry out genome scale loss of function and gain of function screens for modifiers of expression of genes under conditions mimicking those encounter in neurodegenerative disease.

           

           

          Skills/Knowledge Required:

           

          • Candidate should have a Ph.D. and extensive lab experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell biology.
          • Experience in reporter gene assays, signal transduction studies, high content analysis, small molecule or functional genomics would be very helpful.
          • Interest in neurodegeneration, inflammation, and or high throughput functional screening approaches.

          Note: Postdocs will be eligible for Celgene benefits but will not be entitled to receive Celgene equity, bonuses or annual merit increases.  Minimum relocation assistance will be offered on a case by case basis only.
