Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the Atanassov Lab in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Buffalo, New York. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven postdoctoral fellow to study the role of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) in cancer. The postdoctoral fellow will work with a dynamic team of scientists and research fellows in an outstanding research environment and utilize genetically engineered mouse models and biochemical approaches to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of how DUB functions potentiate cancer growth and develop strategies for their therapeutic targeting. The study is supported by NIH funded R01 award, and the position is ready for an immediate start.
The project will involve extensive work with genetically engineered mouse models, xenograft models, and cell and organoid cultures. Expertise in basic molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry techniques, including molecular cloning, viral gene delivery systems, CRISPR/Cas9 system, protein purification, flow cytometry, imaging, and basic bioinformatics skills, is required.
A track record of scientific productivity and good verbal and written communication skills are required.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants should have a PhD in a related discipline and be capable of doing independent research and collaborating with investigators at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer.
