The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department (MIE) at the University of Illinois-Chicago is seeking applications for one highly motivated Post-Doc to conduct research in the area of complex fluid mechanics and fluid dynamics.
The position will start either in May-August.
Applicants are expected to have a strong background in Fluid mechanics and Fluid dynamics. Candidates with expertise on computational methods/CFD and/or hands-on experience in fluid mechanics and in technologies such as particle image velocimetry (PIV) measurements are preferred. Excellent communication and written skills are required along with demonstrated success in previous academic research. The postdoctoral fellow must have a PhD in an engineering discipline, good mechanical design skills. Additionally, the selected candidates will be expected to oversee undergraduate and master students, collaborate with the team members, write reports and publish peer-reviewed journal articles.
The appointment includes a stipend and benefits, if eligible.
