Postdoctoral Researcher
UTHSCSA Molecular Medicine
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Cancer Epi-/Genomics in the Department of Molecular Medicine at University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA), in the lab of Dr. Victor Jin, Professor. The research focus in Jin's lab will be on the following aspects: 1) developing genomics and computational approaches for the identification of genomic regulatory elements and networks from the cancer epi-genomic and genomic regulatory data by utilizing next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies such as ChIP-exo, ChIP-seq, MBDCap-seq, Epic-seq, DRIP-seq, TCC (Hi-C), RNA-seq and miRNA-seq; and 2) functionally and mechanistically characterizing the roles of epigenetic marks in cancer development and progression using novel techniques such as siRNA, 3C/ChIP/RT-qPCR, Western Blotting, 3D-FISH and CRISPR/Cas9. The successful candidate will be expected to develop 3C-based high throughput technologies such as Hi-C at population and single cell levels. The position actively involves in working cooperatively with other lab members. We seek a highly motivated individual with demonstrated scientific productivity to join the laboratories.
This position will not have a faculty title. All Postdoctoral appointments are designated as security sensitive positions. Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and cancer biology, or a related field.
- Research experience (with first-author publications) in molecular biology, genetics and cancer biology.
- Expertise in laboratory skills, such as cell- and in vivo-based molecular techniques, ChIP, qPCR, western blotting, flow cytometry, cell culture and others.
