Postdoctoral Researcher : Bronx, NY, United States
Department of Genetics, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Two postdoctoral positions are available in the lab of Bernice Morrow to understand the genetic basis of structural birth defects connected to human congenital malformation syndromes. One position requires expertise in the area of computational biology, bioinformatics or statistical genetics. The goal of this position is to integrate genome wide data from Affymetrix 6.0 arrays, whole exome and whole genome sequence from patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome to identify genetic modifiers of heart defects or other phenotypes. This work will complement the work of the second postdoctoral researcher who will use mouse conditional alleles to understand the function of genes that map to chromosome 22q11.2 during embryonic development. Here, expertise in using mouse models, immunohistochemistry and tissue dissection or culture is required. Good communication skills in English are required for both positions. The laboratory is in a new building located on the main Einstein Campus, in the northeast part of the Bronx, NY, within a short 30 min commute to Manhattan or surrounding suburbs.
