Salary range £29,557 to £32,840 per annum

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work in an enthusiastic, collaborative and supportive team studying the role of chromatin dynamics in regulating normal development, especially of the immune system and the intestinal epithelium, and how these processes are affected during ageing and inflammation.
The successful candidate will primarily work with the group of Patrick Varga-Weisz but the project is also part of a wider collaboration with the groups of Peter Fraser, Anne Corcoran and Mikhail Spivakov of the Nuclear Dynamics Programme at the Institute. The project will couple epigenomic mapping approaches (ChIP-seq, bioinformatic analysis) with mouse genetics and cell biological techniques to explore mechanisms of chromatin dynamics and organisation.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own project and to participate in other on-going projects in the Varga-Weisz group.
Applicants will have a PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology or genetics and will preferably have a background in mouse genetics, development, immune biology, chromatin biology and bioinformatics. This position is available until 31 March 2017 in the first instance.
