Postdoc in Stem Cells and Regeneration in the Retina : ORSAY, France
A 2 years post-doctoral position (with a possible one year extension), supported by an “Equipe FRM” grant, is available starting October 1st, 2015 in the Paris Saclay Institute of Neuroscience (Neuro-PSI), at University Paris-Sud (25 km south of Paris) for a project on stem cell based regeneration in both Xenopus and mice retina.
Our research interest is to unravel the molecular mechanisms (focussing on the Hippo/YAP pathway) underlying retinal regeneration, taking advantage of Xenopus as an animal model where retinal repair naturally occurs post-embryonically following injury. In parallel, we seek to identify novel strategies that could awake dormant retinal stem cells and stimulate neurogenesis in murine models of retinal dystrophies.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques and a solid background in developmental biology.
Interested candidates should have a Ph.D. and have less than 2 years postdoctoral experience.
