Applications are currently being accepted for a postdoctoral position in the Chromatin Dynamics and Epigenetics laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Medicine in Lisbon, Portugal. Our research interests focus on chromatin dynamics during transcription andDNA damage repair in human cells. We try to understand how changes in these processes relate with cancer development (selected refs: de Almeida SF, et al. Nature Struct Mol Biol 2011; Carvalho S, et al. Nucleic Acids Res 2013; Carvalho S, et al. eLife 2014). To this end, we are using a combination of standard biochemical and molecular biology approaches together with RNA-seq and ChIP-seq experiments and analyses.
Qualifications: Candidates should hold a PhD degree or equivalent and have a background in chromatin biology, transcription/co-transcriptional RNA processing or DNA damage response. Knowledge in computational biology (analyses of RNA-seq and ChIP–seq data) would be a plus. We offer a highly interdisciplinary and state-of the art research environment.
Salary: The successful candidate will be awarded a postdoctoral fellowship.
