We are looking to recruit 2 Postdoctoral Scientists to work with John Sutherland on the origin of life.
The project will involve investigation of novel prebiotic synthetic approaches to oligonucleotides, oligopeptides and lipids. In general, a systems chemistry approach involving compound mixtures will be employed along with state of the art chemical analysis.
You will have a PhD in organic or bioorganic chemistry or be due to complete your doctoral studies within 6 months of applying. Ideally, you will also have experience with synthetic and analytical organic or bioorganic chemistry.
This is a 3 year training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline or has limited experience of transferable skills.
You will get the choice upon appointment of undertaking the Career Development Fellowship or the MRC Post-Doctoral Training Scheme which both support you with a range of formal and
on-the-job training.
