Area: Analysis of cellular phenotypes in Oligodendrocytes
The Developmental and Cellular Biology Group (led by Prof. Jens Schwamborn) at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine utilizes stem cells for modelling and experimental treatment of neurodegenerative disease. Projects in the lab are at the interface of systems biology and bio-medical research. In particular we aim on gaining new insights in the complex processes that regulate neuro-degenerative as well as -regenerative processes.
In this particular project we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who should derive oligodendrocytes from human Parkinson’s disease specific induced pluripotent stem cells. These oligodendrocytes will be analyzed for disease specific phenotypes and potential regenerative applications.
Successful applicants should have a strong interest in Cell Biology and Neurobiology, especially experience in stem cell biology and cultures of oligodendrocytes would be a plus. We are looking for highly motivated people who share our passion for research, are interested in acquiring new skills and wish to be part of an international team.
