The project centers on the new biology of secreted and nuclear tRNA synthetases. New protein, DNA, and small molecule complexes have been uncovered, which are associated with the new biology of these ancient enzymes. The successful candidate will pursue structural studies of these complexes, and collaborate with laboratory members on functional analysis. Expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, and X-ray crystallography is desired.
