We are offering a 3 year Molecular Immunology Career Development Fellowship (CDF), which is a training and development position for postdoctoral scientists. A CDF will provide opportunities to develop research project skills and collaborative links with colleagues within and beyond the Institute.
You will join Dr. Mark Wilson and his team in the Molecular Immuology divison of NIMR (http://www.nimr.mrc.ac.uk/research/a-z/immunity), studying the role of small RNA species, including miRNAs, involved in the immune response to parasitic helminths and allergens. Specifically, you will carry out an independent research project (with supervision) to identify miRNA-regulated pathways in various cells involved in type-2 immune responses. Transient and stable genetic manipulation of these pathways will be a fundamental approach to determine the importance and relevance of these pathways in type-2 immunity.You should have experience in :
Molecular biology techniques (transient and stable transfection, DNA and RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, RNAi).
Animal handling, sterile primary cell culture.
Immunological assays (Flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA).

Your key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring the design and implementation of your project.

Liasing with external collaborators in the UK and abroad to visit labs and perform shared experiments.

Preparation of scientific manuscripts, reports, presentations and records of experimental plans and results.
You will need to have a PhD in Immunology or Molecular Biology or be in the final stages of completion and have previous experience with immunological or molecular biology techniques or are clinically qualified.
