Postdoctoral Research Opportunity in Cancer Gene Therapy (2 years) at Department Clinical Microbiology/Virology, Umeå University, Sweden

Description of research project:
One fellowship is open for candidates interested in doing postdoctoral research in the field of cancer gene therapy by using human adenovirus as vectors, focusing on studies of oncolysis of adenovirus carrying one or more therapeutic genes in solid tumors or tumor cells in vivo or in vitro, with the aim to develop better cancer therapeutic agents.
Qualification requirements:
Doctorate maximum of three (3) years before the present application deadline.
Demonstrated experience: working with cell lines and tissues from experimental animals and human tumors, methods of studying epithelial cells in vitro and in vivo transfection of epithelial cells. Applicants should have solid knowledge in molecular biology and studies of recombinant protein functions good knowledge in areas cell biology, tumor biology, virology and pathology as well as experience from animal experimental models.
Other desirable qualifications
In addition, the applicant should have the ability to work independently in the laboratory and the ability to interact with others. The candidate should also be proficient in written and spoken English and have good organizational skills.
