A fellowship is available immediately with Dr. Shukti Chakravarti at Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine to study immune regulations by extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins. Previous work from this laboratory identified lumican, an ECM protein to regulate toll-like receptor 4 mediated innate immune signals and corneal infections. The candidate must be highly motivated, within 2 years of completion of a Ph.D in the areas of immunology and biochemistry with experience in mouse models. Our laboratory is part of an exciting multidisciplinary and collaborative group interested immune responses, autoimmunity and corneal diseases.
