The Yue research group in College of Pharmacy of University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on the NIH-funded projects on drug transport proteins. Drug transport protein-related research has grown exponentially in the last few years driven particularly by the emergence of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) critical path transporter white paper (Nat Rev Drug Discovery, 2010, 9: 215) and subsequent draft guidance from the FDA. The postdoctoral fellow will study the role of drug transport proteins in drug disposition in healthy and disease states, including cancers, aiming to predict transporter-mediated drug-drug, drug-disease interactions and to identify novel targets for cancer therapy. Multi-disciplinary approaches are involved in the Yue research program including: 1) characterization of drug-drug interactions and pharmacokinetics of drug transport using in vitro models (e.g. sandwich-cultured rat and human hepatocytes) and WinNonlin software; 2) recombinant viral vector-mediated gene transfer and RNA interference; 3) pharmacogenomic studies; and 4) molecular biology techniques. Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Cancer Research, Immunology, or a related field with peer-reviewed publication(s). Experience in cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques are required. Individuals with experience in protein post-translational modifications and cell signaling pathways are particularly encouraged to apply.
