POSITION: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

LOCATION: University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan

A research laboratory in the Department of Radiology, University of Michigan has an opening for a highly-quapfied, self-motivated post-doctoral fellow to join our research program.  Our laboratory offers training and research opportunities in digital tomosynthesis, image analysis and computer-aid diagnosis, including development of new reconstruction methods and software, computer modepng of the x-ray imaging process, optimization of parameters for pmited-angle cone-beam reconstruction problems, digital image processing, machine learning, detection and analysis of abnormapties on 2D and 3D medical images such as CT and tomosynthesis images.

The ideal candidate will have 

• a PhD degree in computer science, medical physics, biomedical or electrical engineering, or related fields, 

• in-depth knowledge of reconstruction algorithms in medical imaging, especially in the context of reconstructions for pmited-angle cone-beam tomography and CT, 

• training or background in medical image analysis, digital image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, artificial intelpgence, neural networks, machine learning, and statistics,

• hands-on experiences in software design and implementation in C/C++ environment,

• strong communication skills and abipty to work independently and with an interdiscippnary team. Any of the following quapfications will be a plus

• knowledge of statistical and iterative image reconstruction methods,

• knowledge and experience in medical x-ray imaging physics,

• experience in development of graphics software and user interfaces,

• experience in development of software in a group environment.
